Baby A’s Newborn Session | Cambridge Newborn Photographer

I thought it was time to (finally) post a few more pictures from this sweety’s session. I’ve had so many people ask to see more pictures from each session and although I’m not the best blogger around, I totally agree :)

Each time I do a newborn session it brings back memories from what feels like just the other day (but happens to be a teeny bit longer than that) when I welcomed my own tiny babies into the world. So perfect. So new. So precious. I am truly honoured to be able to capture this special – yet all too fleeting – time for my clients.

If you remember, this angel slept like a champ and had the most gorgeous little pout. Here is her session storyboard.

Baby A is here! | Cambridge Newborn Photographer

Miss A recently graced the world with her much-anticipated sweetness and I got to capture her at all of 6 days old. She came out of this gorgeous tummy and truth be told, I could’ve cuddled her all day long.

I had a very tough time deciding which photos to blog for this session. A friend commented recently that she wished I shared more of each session, and not just a picture or two. The thing is, a sneak peek is just that – a *peek*. But when it came time to choose which pictures to use for the peek, I really couldn’t decide, so I thought I’d give it a try and post a few more than usual.

Just look at her precious lips, no wonder Mom and Dad are so smitten!

And when I saw her nursery, I just knew I had to capture those details too. Miss A has quite the book collection already, and her Mom definitely has an eye for all things lovely. Lucky girl!

Then for some snuggles with Mom

And sweet smiles for Dad

Baby J (future hockey baby) | Guelph newborn photographer

I got to cuddle baby J on Tuesday. At all of 8 days old he was wide awake and already stretching his muscles in preparation for his hockey career (which made curly sleepy shots quite a task to get, but get some we did! :) ). It was a pleasure to capture his sweetness.

First, a little yawn to melt your heart

Life Stories Series: The Story of The Princess Who Saved Herself

Ever see a photographer who starts out with a 365 day project, or even a 52 week project and never finishes? Yeah, me too. Well, I recently joined a group of a few other busy photographers who decided to commit to a 12 month project! If we fail this, we’ll be taking donations for a time management seminar. The best part is that it will be lifestyle shots of each of our own lives. We don’t even have to dredge up random people or make our kids pose for us. We’re calling the series “The Story of ________” and we’ll each be filling in our own blanks. At the end of this post is a link to another photographer who participated and she’ll be linking to someone else. It’s a whole big circle of stories in pictures. Click through and enjoy!

Recently we discovered a song about a different kind of princess – The Princess who Saved Herself, by Jonathan Coulton. This is the theme of this month’s Story. Note: no dragon (or baby brother) was harmed in the making of this Story. That face lasted only 3 seconds :) But lots of fun was had! Please take a few minutes to listen to the song before (or while) looking at the photos.

Life stories: The Story Of Picking Apples

Ever see a photographer who starts out with a 365 day project, or even a 52 week project and never finishes? Yeah, me too. Well, I recently joined a group of a few other busy photographers who decided to commit to a 12 month project! If we fail this, we’ll be taking donations for a time management seminar.
